“He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord.” Isaiah 26:3
We can never avoid strife in the world around us or even in relationships close to us, but with God we can know perfect peace even in turmoil. When we are devoted to Him, our whole attitude is steady and stable. Supported by God’s unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos.
“Sometimes God calms the storm—sometimes He calms the child as the storm rages.” I’m not sure where I read this but it makes a mark in my heart and my life.
God loves us in good times and bad; what really matters is what is happening in us, not to us.
