Good morning from The Garden!

“…….The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.” Nehemiah 4:10.

In Nehemiah’s day the wall was necessary to protect the city and to keep enemies from invading the peace that could be found within the walls.

For you to be strong as a Christian, it is necessary to build a wall between you and the secular world. This is not a physical wall, but just a protective wall to shield you from temptation that may take many forms. The foundation of this wall, of course, is Jesus Christ, but the strength of the wall comes from your efforts in growing closer to Christ daily.

If you abandon the building of this wall because of too much rubble, then your defense will be weak, and sin will come in to your life and push you away from a loving relationship with the Lord.

Rubble could be anything that keeps you busy—anything that zaps your strength–any distraction that the world offers—-ANYTHING—

When you feel you are too busy to find time truly to strengthen your relationship with God, try to simplify your life so that you can keep building. In HIS protection you find peace.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
