Early one morning I watched the hummingbirds around my patio. The feeder was empty, and they just swooped in and out looking for something to eat. After I filled the container, I observed something very interesting.
At first one lone hummingbird perched lazily on the feeder enjoying the sweet nectar. Then there were two, then three, then four flying around.
But #1 was no longer perched comfortably eating. He was busy chasing all the others from the area. Although there were four perches and more than enough for all of them, #1 wouldn’t share.
#1 had enough for many, but because he was afraid that others would take it, he could not enjoy what he had. #1 wasn’t very smart!
“An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment.” Proverbs 18:1.
When we work in a friendly manner with others, everyone wins. It’s not only the Christian thing to do. It is the smart thing to do.
Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
