Can you even imagine how Solomon felt when he heard his father’s words? “Listen now [my son] for the Lord has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary.” 1 Chronicles 28:10.
If that wasn’t scary enough, he then shows him the massive plans.
“Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.” 11.
I am sure that Solomon was thinking that this was an impossible task, but he was forgetting one thing. God had ordained it!
“David also said to his son, ‘Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.’” 1 Chronicles 28:20.
No challenge—physical, mental, emotional, or social, is too great if we first of all place it in the Lord’s hands.
Sometimes the size of the job, its risks, or the pressure of the situation can cause us to freeze and do nothing.
Don’t focus on the fear just get busy with the first step. The beginning is most often the hardest part. When we give the first step to God, he helps us complete the task.
Have a blessed day!
