Good morning from The Garden!

My memory serves me well: It’s Sunday after church and we are heading for Grandma Bradley’s house for dinner. I can still hear Mom saying, “Now, mind your manners because the preacher is coming to dinner.”

It is natural to remind children to be on their best behavior from time to time, but they first of all must possess a “best” behavior.

If mom had not expected us to use good manners on a daily basis, I would not have had a clue what she was talking about on the trip up to Grandma’s house.

But “good behavior” was planted deep inside me and my sisters—-sometimes through soft words and sometimes through the dreaded fly swat! But we knew what was expected.

God wants His word and His commandments planted so deep within us that we have no problem with being on our best behavior for Him who is always our honored guest.

“We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
