Good morning from The Garden!

When Joseph and Mary had done everything that was required by Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.  And the child grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.….”  Luke 2.39-40.

There is a time lapse in this passage so you need to read Luke 2:21-38 to understand that they followed the prophecy of the Law.

But I want you to pay attention to verse 40.  Jesus was filled with wisdom as He grew into manhood.  The wisdom that can come only through His relationship with His Heavenly Father.  Even though, we know very little about the life of Christ in the years He was growing strong and gaining wisdom, we do know that God was with Him.

God gives us His wisdom as we grow strong in our faith.  The closer we grow toward Him, the more we can hear Him and make decisions based on His wise counsel.

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given unto Him.”  James 1:5.

Jesus lived a time as a little boy, playing with His (half) brothers and sisters [Matthew 13:55], and neighbors, and helping Joseph in the carpenter’s shop.  But as He grew, He prepared Himself for what was to come.

“…..and the grace of God was upon Him….”

For us to grow in His grace, we need to listen to His voice, and heed His commands.  Then we will receive His wisdom for what is to come.

 Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
