How often have you experienced complete silence? Usually the cell phone rings, the a/c is running, the TV is blaring, the radio plays your favorite tunes, etc…..there is seldom silence.
The scriptures have something to say about being silent before God.
“Oh God in Zion, we wait before you in silent praise, and thus fulfill our vow,” Psalm 65:1.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 40:10. “The Lord is in His Holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him.” Habakkuk 2:20.
In today’s active world there is often little time for silence before God, yet it may be the very height of praise to fall silent before God. Then you can hear his voice and know His will.
