Good morning from The Garden!

In this passage Jesus explains the cost of being His disciple:

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.‘ ” Luke 14:28-29.

If the builder doesn’t estimate the cost before he begins, then the work later may cease and the building could be left unfinished.  If the building is important then the builder will prepare properly to see it through to completion.

Be careful that your Christian life is not half-built and then abandoned because you did not count the cost of commitment to Jesus. “Jesus turned to His disciples and said, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’ ” Matthew 16:24.

Following Christ does not mean a trouble-free life. You must carefully count the cost of becoming Christ’s disciples so that you will be prepared and won’t stop building before completion.  If you are totally committed, then you will always seek God’s help to see you through.

True commitment means no turning back no matter the storm.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
