Good morning from The Garden!

The Academy in our small town embraces eight-man football.   If you are not familiar with this event, you have missed a treat.  It is the basically the same as 11-man, but it is usually a very high-scoring game.  This past week my brother-in-law kept my sister updated on the game.  He read me the post from his phone the next day.  It sounded something like this:  “20-18 Us; 24-20-Them; 26-18 Us; 26-26 Tie; 34-26 Them, etc. This back and forth scoring continued the entire game.  Listening to this the next day did not seem as nerve-racking as the night before because I knew that when the buzzer sounded at the end of the game, we had won.

Life is full of happy and sad moments.  Sometimes we are on top of the world, thinking all is forever okay.  Then at another time,  it seems that we are losing the battle.  Our wins and our loses do not seem to even out.  But as a Christian we put Christ and His mission first and foremost because this is worth the battle.  We know that the victory is ours..  Christ has already won the battle for us.

Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize.  Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games into strict training.  They do it to get the crown that will not last; but we do it to get a CROWN THAT WILL LAST FOREVER.………….”  1 Corinthians 9:24.

We are all athletes PLAYING the most important game of our lives.  The good news is———  THE CHRISTIAN WINS!

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
