Good morning from The Garden!

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a Christian preacher and theologian who was imprisoned for speaking out against Hitler and his Nazi atrocities during WWII. While he was in prison and before he was executed, he wrote many messages to Christians around the world. His works were published many years later, posthumously. The following is one of his quotes:

We are silent at the beginning of the day because God should have the first word, and we are silent before going to sleep because the last word also belongs to God.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

These words remind me of the importance of beginning each day and ending each day listening to the voice of God.

At the beginning of the day you will find God’s will for your life and find strength to live for Him.

Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.

The Lord is in His Holy temple. Let all the earth keep silent before Him.” Habakkuk 2:20

When you are silent, you are blessed beyond measure.

At the end of the day you will find rest that comes from a thankful heart.

Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy-burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

You are my God and I will give you thanks….”  Psalm 118:26.

The beginning and the end are the bookends that hold our day together.

Have a blessed day!
In Christian love,
Diane
